All our pupils follow a Personal,
Social and Health Education course which helps the pupils to develop as
confident and responsible individuals. It covers a wide range of topics
from such things as decision making and goal setting to health education
and economic awareness.
Pupils in Years 10 and 11 are allocated one
lesson a week in addition to ‘crashed’ sessions during which a team of
teachers consider specific topics: decision-making,
careers education
and other issues pertinent to their age and development.
Pupils in Years
7, 8, and 9 similarly meet with their tutors daily, but have ‘crashed’
sessions when the need arises for an expert to talk to them on specific
topics. The time with the form tutors, for all years, is used to follow
the progress of each pupil, and to discuss with them these strategies
for improvement.
