Absence

Absence from Examinations

If you are unable to attend an examination you must telephone the school office (01379 870315) no later than 8:45am on that day. Leave a message for Mr Waller. The only acceptable reason for non-attendance is on urgent medical grounds. You MUST obtain a medical certificate which includes the doctor's address, giving the reason for and dates of your absence. The certificate must be sent to school immediately.

Medical or dental appointments, holiday arrangements or interviews are not accepted by the examination boards as reasons for absence. If you believe you have any other valid reason for non-attendance you MUST contact Mr Waller before the examination date if at all possible.

Year 10: If you are absent from an examination you must arrange with your subject teacher to sit the paper at a later date. The only good reason for non-attendance is on medical grounds. You MUST obtain a note from your parents/guardian which gives the reason for and dates of your absence.
