the pupils are encouraged to develop an understanding of, and enthusiasm
for, Science as a way of actively learning about the everyday world that
has important applications in their own lives and society. They are
taught the knowledge and skills to develop an understanding of a wide
range of scientific concepts and principles and to use these in the
pursuit of further knowledge and understanding. They are taught basic
understanding of the nature of an advancned techological society and the
interaction between science and society. "
